"Gill has had a long-term love affair with the visual arts; she is at heart an activist, and seeks to play a role to support artists to do what they do best. She has a good but catholic eye, a gift for marketing, and a genuine passion to make art accessible to the ordinary citizen again. She seeks to create an environment where people can enter the gallery without being overwhelmed by the formality of silence, so that we can experience and enjoy what is on show, judge for ourselves, and spend time musing, even when we're not interested in spending money"
from Lucy Alexander's speech at the opening of the Gill Allderman Gallery.
